The announcement text: Head of Development - Watford - £60k negotiable plus bonus plus excellent benefits

Head of Development urgently required. The Head Of Development is a key member of the Senior Management team, reports direct to the CEO and is responsible for providing direction, planning, development, testing, delivery, release and technical guidance on all product development initiatives for the Group. This position has the overall responsibility for the development and timely availability of Group software releases and all add-on products. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience architecting, designing and building systems, a strong project management background, a proven track record of leadership in setting clear goals and achieving them. Must also have the ability to: Effectively direct, organize, manage and deliver software releases within agreed deadlines. Manage contractors, as well as Group employees. Manage software development initiatives through successful completion. Work in an environment requiring strong professional discipline and attention to detail. Bring a broad based business perspective to the development function. At the executive level, analyze and evaluate development and technology issues, recommend & efficiently manage implementation of solutions. Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Prepare comprehensive reports and correspondence. Work within a team-oriented environment and foster a management by objectives approach. Select, supervise, train, motivate, assign, evaluate, counsel and lead staff. Prepare and control budget. You must live within a 45 minute commute to Watford or be willing to relocate.
